PODCAST: Respect My Decision, No Interviews Please

This audio was recorded on Thursday evening. The reality of the situation was just sinking in, and we had fairly divergent views on what may happen. The landscape shifts quickly in realignment, but this represents where Coffey, Fank and I were on Thursday night when we recorded. Baylor has since released a statement, intending to continue its commitment to athletics at the highest level of competition, with rumors all over the map about what that means.

One other note before the show notes: I express skepticism that a “revamped” Big 12 without OU and UT would garner consideration from the CFP Committee should a team warrant it, but Nicole Auerbach confirmed that the Big 12 would retain its status as an “Autonomy 5” conference even if OU and UT leave. So, there’s that.

Anyway, here’s the podcast! It felt fairly bleak while recording, but there are definite rays of hope to be found in the rapidly-changing realignment landscape. And honestly, the “Worst Realignment Ideas” segment is worth listening to the entire show for. Enjoy!
