(Note: The podcast has a really dumb title this week, which you can see in the player below. It makes no sense because it was very late in the evening and I couldn’t come up with anything better.)
Happy Thursday, everybody! This week we’re joined by Ty Stimpson, former Baylor Bear and good friend of Elliot Coffey. He’s providing some interesting insight and we’re happy to have him on the program.
We’re leading off talking about contract extensions! Both Matt Rhule and Mack Rhoades were extended this week, and we couldn’t be happier about it. Next up: Linda Livingstone, Kim Mulkey, Scott Drew? We shall see!
We’re spending the bulk of our time (well, approximately 3⁄4 of our time, anyway) talking about the Baylor Bears’ victory over the Iowa St. Cyclones. James Lynch, Bravvion Roy, and James Lockhart all had monster days, garnering 3 sacks and generally wreaking havoc in the backfield. Then you had that ridiculous interception by Jordan Williams, Clay Johnston only played well enough to earn himself Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors, nbd.
We’re also talking about a pretty spectacular day from the WR corps, despite some drops. Denzel Mims led the day with two touchdowns, while Tyquan Thornton had an extremely impactful day. RJ Sneed and Chris Platt also had some pretty key catches also. OH YEAH, we’re also talking about John Mayers’ first-ever collegiate field goal. It couldn’t have come at a more important time.
We’re also talking about the upcoming tilt with the Kansas St. Wildcats and what Baylor needs to be able to do to win. Plus, as always, Picks of the Week!
Enjoy!
