OurDailyPodcast 192: We Don’t Make Mistakes, We Have Happy Accidents

Coffey, Fank & Pope recap the impressive victory over Oklahoma State in Stillwater last Saturday, plus engage in some bye-week speculation and make some picks! Things are getting fun, y’all

NCAA Football: Baylor at Oklahoma State Rob Ferguson-USA TODAY Sports

Nobody expected that! Except for our man Elliot Coffey. The rest of us, well, we were a bit more pessimistic. Regardless, nobody expected 7-0! Baylor‘s victory over Oklahoma State was impressive in so may respects, and we’re talking all about it this week.

Perhaps most impressive for us was the defensive performance. Yes, Chuba Hubbard is a grown man and got his yards, but as Fank argued last week, it took him over 30 carries to get his 170 yards. They gave up their longest run play of the season, yes, but the secondary in Jameson Houston, Raleigh Texada and company shut down a talented receiver corps. The defensive line did what this defensive line does, and Terrel Bernard only did well enough to snag Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The offense, after a quick strike, sputtered in the first half (as has become the case), but found its legs in the second half and really took control of the game via explosive plays by Josh Fleeks, Tyquan Thornton, and JaMycal Hasty. Charlie Brewer threw for 312 yards... on 13 completions. 536 yards of offense on 54 plays. That’s an impressive clip.

We get to some idle speculation (REMEMBER: WE ARE NOT THE TEAM) before we spend a brief moment on this amazing piece of artistry:

Okay, that’s enough of that. Enjoy the podcast!
