The dust has settled a bit from Friday Night Lights, and of course it's left us wanting more football. Sadly, we're about to head into the Long Dark of Summer, but Spring Practices aren't finished just yet, and we've got the Spring Game to break down! Mark was in attendance and is on hand to break it all down for us.
We do take a brief moment to discuss the end of the basketball season. But, thank the Lord, there's nothing to jinx, so you people who believe that a pre-recorded podcast can impact the outcome of a game that happens hundreds of miles away are simply out of luck. Sorry. We also take a moment to pay homage to an amazing Women's Basketball team that has made it to the Sweet 16 for like the zillionth time. There's also some unexpected Arkansas geography talk, so you definitely won't want to miss that.
But then, we're talking Spring Football! Here's some of the talk (I was really good and wrote down the high points, then promptly left the sheet of paper on my recording desk at home, so these are from memory and likely not sequential):
- Atmosphere and Turnout
- Todd Pagitt
- Quarterbacks: The outlook for Seth Russell as the starter, who's going to be the backup, and what happens with Jarrett Stidham vis-à-vis his red shirt
- The Four Horsemen Ascendant
- Defensive Line and Linebackers
- The Secondary and whether Cris Dishman is making an immediate impact
- Much, much more.
There you have it. You won't want to miss this episode.
Programming Note
Since basketball season is winding down and we're about to be a long way from regular news regarding football, the podcast will go into a bit of a hibernation state at this point, with no plans for a regular show until mid-summer. I suspect that we'll have additional shows, possibly another one covering Women's Basketball at some point or hitting recruiting news and information, but we don't have any current plans.
That being said, if yo have suggestions for offseason content, I'd love to hear them. You can either leave those in the comments or email them to OurDailyPodcast (at) gmail (dot) com. Either way works!
Also, is there some method by which you consume podcasts that doesn't have OurDailyPodcasts available? Stitcher or something like it? Let me know, and I will see what I can do about getting the show added to those lists.
