As you may or may not know, we're recording OurDailyPodcast tonight. Fankhauser is joining us. We're going to record it "Kirobaito-style," which means that I'm going to record one feed with all of our voices, do minimal editing and post it tonight after we record. I imagine that it will be online and available for listening within an hour of finishing recording, if not faster.
But We Need Your Help!
I barely have any Community Feedback or No Huddle questions for this week's show. While we do the Bear Droppings segment in the aftermath of games, you're still welcome to call in That Good Ol' Baylor Phone Line and leave us your questions. We'll get to those on the show tonight, too. For Community Feedback questions, you can either email them to me or you can leave them in the comments below.
For No Huddles, remember that the goal of a No Huddle question is supposed to be fun and/or funny, and shouldn't be something that requires deep thought or discussion. It's mostly something that can be answered on the fly, with a one word or one-sentence answer. Either/Or questions work too. It also doesn't have to be about Baylor Football at all. It could be about movies or food or TV shows or music or Clint Trickett. Just keep it within the bounds of decency and we'll be good!
So, here's how you contact us:
- Email: OurDailyPodcast (at) gmail (dot) com (Community Feedback questions and No Huddle Q's asked by Peter to Mark and Fank)
- Email: OurDailyBears (at) gmail (dot) com (No Huddle Q's asked by Mark to Peter and Fank)
- That Good Ol' Baylor Phone Line: (774) 25-SICEM (257-4236)
- Also, leave us 5-Star Reviews and we'll read them tonight on the show! Help boost Peter's self-esteem!
Thanks folks!
And now, here's Mark with some exciting Numbers!
Every month, the managers of each of SB Nation's 350+ blogs receive reports distributed by network and conference about the traffic to our blog that month. I'm proud to report that for October 2013, ODB ranked 20th in the entire college network, our highest ranking ever. We are at our near the top in almost every category related to community engagement, such as fanposts, fanshots, and comments posted, and led the Big 12 in every category there is in terms of growth. If that doesn't sound like a huge thing to you, it is. Our year-to-year numbers were up over 300% across-the-board from October 2012, and it was by far our biggest month to date. November could be even better.
Just to illustrate how far we've come: it took ODB about 15 months to pass the 1,000,000 pageviews mark, which I thought was a pretty big number. After that, it took just 7 months to amass another 1,000,000, pushing the blog over 2,000,000 in historical pageviews. That happened on September 6, exactly 2 months ago. In the past 61 days -- the two months since 9/6 -- we have almost 900,000 already. I believe that is what mathematicians refer to as "exponential growth."
I don't tell you guys these things to toot ODB's horn so much as to thank you for being a part of it. We've come so far in the past few months, it's almost unbelievable. My hope is that we can continue to grow this community and keep adding content and members to make it the best free Baylor site on the web. With everything that has happened so far, I feel like we are well on our way.
