I decided to do these two as a pair today since we don't really know which of them is starting. Interestingly, though Beau Blackshear started 12 games last year, all 12 came at nose tackle rather than 3-technique. That means that if he holds off Javonte Magee, who returned this spring from personal issues that held him out the entire season last year, or not, we'll have a new starter at DT, regardless.
Like with Billings yesterday, we're going to keep this relatively simple:
TACKLES / TACKLES FOR LOSS / SACKS
The stats for the two players reflect Magee's sabattical following a true freshman campaign wherein he played mostly DE. Blackshear's stats:
And those for Magee:
I've typically avoided saying too much in these threads so as to not influence the projections, but I want to remind everyone here that Baylor rotates frequently on the defensive line. Thus, the designation of a "starter" may mean less than we'd typically think, and the production could be spread around quite a bit.
There you go. Please keep all discussion to the Discussion Fanpost and "rec" that post if you haven't already. Happy projecting!
