When Baylor made its late-season run, it took a combination of fantastic offense and surprisingly good defense to make it happen. As big a player as any in the latter was LB Eddie Lackey, who took two critical interceptions back for touchdowns in wins over Texas Tech and Oklahoma State, in addition to finishing third overall in the Big 12 Conference last year in tackles. He's back now for his senior year alongside Bryce Hager, and Baylor will be leaning on him heavily.

It's been brought to my attention, rightfully, that the "passes defensed" category for linebackers and DL is the same as passes batted down, so we're going to do a bit of an experiment with Lackey's projections by opening things up.
TACKLES / TACKLES FOR LOSS / TURNOVERS CAUSED / PASSES DEFENSED
Included in passes defensed, as I said, should be passes batted down at the line. I'm trusting sports-reference to keep good stats on this, but if it turns out that it doesn't, don't worry. I can take that out of the projections later when it comes time to see who won.
The turnout for the Hager thread yesterday was a bit lower than I expected, probably because I didn't get it up until 10 AM. That's my bad. If you want to go back and do that one now, or any other, please feel free. These threads will remain open until next Friday, August 30, at midnight. That's when projections for this season will close.
Good luck!
