I meant to mention this last week, but I'm going to try to spend a few weeks highlighting 'local' music for Friday Afternoon Videos. I'm intending for it to be lesser-known artists who are local to Texas and am willing to consider suggestions/requests from others. Since I'm currently living in Dallas, it will probably skew towards the Metroplex unless I get good suggestions.
Last week featured St. Vincent, who grew up in Dallas and has been an artist on the come for a few years now. In 2012 she collaborated with David Byrne on the album Love This Giant and she's out with a new self-titled album (February, 2014) that's just her.
This week features Dallas band Air Review with "Animal" off of their debut album Low Wishes.
