José James is a jazz vocalist that presents a more modern style by combining R&B and hip hop influences into his music. That those are amongst my favorite genres means that I was already inclined to like his music; that his raspy voice stretches from yearning to powerful while maintaining precision and control of a trained vocalist means that he needs to make an appearance on ODB's FAV. Let's be honest, it doesn't hurt that he makes music that's easy to listen to and can be fun to dance/jam/groove to. Happy Friday!
