First off, happy 18th birthday to my sister, CourtneySaurusRex, who has no social media presence and no interest in sports. Stay golden.

Baylor Football

Practice keeps chugging along, and we're 15 days away from kickoff.

It's the second year in a row Baylor has placed two on this particular watch list, the award for the best native Texan in college football in a particular year. Bryce Petty won the inaugural trophy in 2013, and Trevone Boykin took it last year. We'll see if Coleman or Russell can make their mark.

On this episode of Inside CampBU, Fox Sports' Charles Davis says Baylor is one of the best players in the nation, Seth Russell is "big time", Shock Linwood is underrated, and the receivers are terrifying.

Athlon ranked the top players in the Big 12 with a very confusing voting system, but Baylor led the way, followed by OU and TCU. It's going to be a fun season.

Miscellaneous News

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Just in: Baylor’s Traditions Rally will feature a really big name: country star Brad Paisley. <a href="http://t.co/9Gm8oOcLSa">http://t.co/9Gm8oOcLSa</a> <a href="http://t.co/f8MIC15jqb">pic.twitter.com/f8MIC15jqb</a></p>&mdash; Waco Tribune-Herald (@wacotrib) <a href="https://twitter.com/wacotrib/status/634105110692368384">August 19, 2015</a></blockquote>

Brad Paisley, one of the more notable country artists of the current generation, will be playing Traditions Rally on September 11. This is a big deal and a notable detour from the last two years' trend, which has included artists like Ben Rector and Phillip Phillips, neither of which had much appeal outside of a college audience. Paisley should draw a large local crowd and pack Fountain Mall.
