Thursday Daily Bears Report

Baseball might be fun again.

Baseball Upsets No. 1 TCU in Big 12 Tournament

We'd be an awful rival if we didn't bring it up, Herr Frog. Besides, we've always treated baseball as a legitimate sport. It's been mentioned consistently in the DBR. There just wasn't much worth talking about.

This is worth talking about.

After a season that could be considered mediocre at best, Baylor raged their way into the postseason and took down TCU with a run in the top of the ninth to take a 6-5 lead. Brad Kuntz finished off the Frogs with three straight outs in the bottom of the same inning. TCU will now face No. 4 Texas Tech for survival, while Baylor will play No. 5 Texas today at 4 p.m. on FSSW+. TCU's fate will be decided at 9 a.m. on the same network.

Also in the losers bracket are Oklahoma and West Virginia after being downed by Kansas State and OSU respectively.

NCAA Men's Tennis Singles

Julian Lenz, Tony Lupieri, and Max Tchoutakian punched their tickets to the second round of NCAA singles competition with their wins on Wednesday. All three victories were comebacks after first set losses.

Ema Burgic Advances to Second Round of NCAA Singles

Ema Burgic defeated Hayley Carter from North Carolina in the first round of NCAA Women's Singles to advance, but teammate Blair Shankle was defeated in two sets by Stephanie Wagner of Miami.

Baylor Recruits Nominated for Army All-American Bowl

Think about the running game in 2018, y'all. Just think about it. And if Jarrett Stidham, upperclassman, is as good as we think then I don't think we have anything to worry about on offense. Get back on the bus, Tren'Davian.

The Daily Bear
