No. 8 Women's Tennis vs. No. 1 USC

It's a tall order for Joey Scrivano's eighth-ranked team, but crazier things have happened. Baylor will have to get past the top ranked and seeded Trojans for a spot in the final four of the NCAA Women's Tennis Tournament. Baylor is coming off a 4-3 victory over No. 9 Virginia on Friday.

The lineup for the day includes North Carolina vs. UCLA at 9 a.m., Stanford vs. Georgia at noon, and Baylor vs. USC and Vanderbilt vs. Florida at 4 p.m., with the latter of those last two being held in the indoor facility if weather interferes. All matches are scheduled to be held at the Hurd Tennis Center.

No. 2 Men's Tennis Defeats No. 7 USC

After taking the doubles point, Baylor didn't need to sweat when Max Tchoutakian and Tony Lupieri lost their singles matchups; a bundle of upsets from Matt Zsiga, Felipe Rios, and Diego Galeano sealed the victory, and Julian Lenz didn't have to play his third set to completion.

Baylor now has to worry about No. 3 Virginia in the Final Four. The Cavaliers are in excellent form after shutting out the sixth-ranked Aggies in their own quarterfinal.

It should be noted that three of the last four teams standing come from the Big 12. No. 5 TCU and No. 1 Oklahoma are also left in contention.

Softball Facing Elimination

After a 3-1 loss last night to UL Lafayette, Baylor softball will be forced to play for its season today at an unspecified time against an unspecified team. Weber State vs. Mississippi State was ended prematurely last night by a rain delay in the fourth inning, where the Bulldogs led 1-0. That game will resume at noon today, and the winner will play Baylor in an elimination game immediately after.

If anyone wants news on the other bat sport, Texas hit back-to-back home runs for a walkoff win in Baylor Ballpark last night to take the firs game of the series.

Men's Golf Season Ends in Bremerton

Baylor fell into a slump and Washington played lights out, finishing ten-under-par on the final day of the regional and outstripping Baylor for the fifth place spot by eight strokes after trailing by three the day before. It wasn't the brightest moment for a Baylor team that has shown flashes of potential throughout the season. Of the three Big 12 teams in the region, only one (TCU) advanced, as Baylor and Iowa State missed the cutoff.
