Farewell, shootyhoops.

MBB National Championship: Wisconsin vs. Duke

It's not what we all expected, but it's a game worthy of the stage. Frank the Tank finally gets a shot at a national championship after progressing steadily for four years from a player barely in the rotation to national player of the year. Duke is led by likely No. 1 draft pick Jahlil Okafor and his partner Tyus Jones, two players who Baylor once heavily recruited (oh, what could have been). Kentucky is dead. Michigan State's run is over. The Big 12 filled a graveyard on its own.

In the words of Jon Rothstein, this is March.

Baylor Invitational Results

The first annual Baylor Invitational was held this weekend at Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium, and Baylor did quite well on its home track, winning 14 events. I won't list all the winners here, but they're in the embedded tweets, along with some video highlights.

We're a Ferrell Center renovation away from having arguably the most aesthetically appealing athletic complex in the nation (although an argument actually exists right now).

Women's Tennis Loses to Tech

Well, women's tennis had a chance to make life for the rest of the conference very difficult this weekend, but they missed out on the opportunity with a 4-2 loss to Tech. They're still in the driver's seat for a conference title, but the gap has closed considerably.

Softball Complete Sweep of Tech

Baylor softball wasn't messing around, and finished off Texas Tech on Saturday by one run. Baylor is 5-1 in conference play so far, and has won both series.

Baseball Swept by Texas State

We need to talk, baseball.

Actually, no we don't. Carry on. Just keep winning Big 12 games.

You make me sad.

Women's Golf Beats Texas, UTSA

A three-way tournament ended in a decisive Baylor victory as the No. 3 bears knocked off Texas and UT San Antonio. Baylor finished five-under-par over 36 holes, beating Texas by ten strokes and UTSA by 30. I'm not a golf expert, but that sounds pretty dominating.

A&T Wins Tri-Meet

A&T and Equestrian remain Baylor's two best shots at a national championship this year. Acro remained undefeated with a tri-meet win over Fairmont State and Alderson Broaddus. Baylor swept all six events for the first time this season.

This Roman mosaic in Madrid is wonderfully ursine.
