Softball Hosts Texas Tech in Three Game Series
Softball is 24-7 on the year, 2-1 so far in Big 12 play, and seems to be improving as the season goes on. Tech has struggled in 2015, recording 16 wins and 20 losses so far, and winless in conference play. Game one is today at 6:30 Central in Getterman Stadium, to be followed by games on Friday at 6:30 and Saturday at noon. All three games will be broadcast live on FSSW+. Saturday will be marked by a retirement ceremony for the number of Brette Reagan, a three-time All-American who led Baylor to the 2007 WCWS. Reagan was admittedly before my time, but it's Baylor's second number retirement in as many home series.

The Tech series will also force Jordan Strickland to play against her younger sister Kaylan, who plays for Texas Tech. You know, if narratives and intrigue are a thing you like.
Bromell Named Big 12 Athlete of the Week

Trayvon Bromell was fantastic at the Texas Relays last week, and this weekend he'll get a chance to run on his home turf. This weekend marks the return of track and field to the Baylor campus as the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium opens and hosts the Baylor Invitational. More on that in tomorrow's report. It's going to be beautiful.
Undefeated A&T Claims No. 1 Spot in Polls
Baylor has unseated Oregon for the top spot in the national A&T rankings with 118 points and 8 first place votes. The Ducks are close behind with 112 points and 3 first place votes. Azusa Pacific, Hawaii Pacific, and Quinnipiac lead the rest of the pack.
In Acrobatics & Tumbling at least, it appears that head to head still matters.
Baseball Hosts/Travels to Texas State in Weekend Series
Baseball can't figure itself out and doesn't look like it will anytime soon. After knocking off West Virginia, Oklahoma, and UTA, baseball went and lost 11-0 to Houston earlier this week. Pretty brutal.
Anyway, we now have a chance for redemption with three games against Texas State (12-15-1) over the weekend. Game one is today at 6 p.m. in San Marcos, to be followed by games at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday in Waco.

Nina Davis End of Season Honors
Nina Davis's sophomore season ended with three All-American honors: the Wooden Award, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association, and the Associated Press. Not a bad resume.

The Daily Bear
Now I'm off to Italy. I'm pre-writing tomorrow's DBR since I'll be in the air, so if it's missing any super-recent news you'll have to forgive me. See y'all later.
