March Madness Daily Guide
First Four Kick Off NCAA Tournament
The first two games of the NCAA Tournament are on tonight as 16 seeds Manhattan and Hampton play for the chance to play Kentucky. The second game of the night tips off at 8 p.m. Central and is between 11 seeds BYU and Ole Miss for a chance to play Xavier. I have mixed feelings about the First Four. On one hand, they allow the low seeds that don't have any hope of winning against a top seed the chance to record a tournament win. On the other hand, it seems like a pointless delay of the main event. But who are we to complain? More sports!

Notre Dame is the top seed in this region, which means Baylor won't have to topple UCONN to make it to the Final Four. The bad news is that Notre Dame is still very, very good. There isn't as much parity in WBB as there is in MBB, but you can be sure that teams able to claim seeds 1-3 are excellent competition.
Waco will host two first round matchups on Friday: Northwestern (7) vs. Arkansas (10) at 11 a.m. and Baylor (2) vs. Northwestern State (15) at 1:30 p.m.

The students agree wholeheartedly.
