In-Season News: MBB, WBB, Baseball, Softball
It's been a long basketball season. I'd say that it's been full of ups and downs, but there's really only been one major up and one major down. When the Bears travel to Austin and take on the Longhorns at 8:00 tonight on ESPNU, they have the ability to put themselves in an excellent position to make it to the big dance. A loss doesn't sink Baylor's chances, but it does make the climb much steeper and more dependent on Big 12 tournament play.

I know that Fankhauser is working on some postseason analysis. I'm not sure when it will drop, but it contains basketball maths that are beyond my level of comprehension at this time.
The Lady Bears have an opportunity to clinch a Big 12 title on Sunday at 1:30 against West Virginia. The 11th ranked Lady Mountaineers make the long trip to the Ferrell Center with an impressive record and should give the Lady Bears more than they want to deal with. The game will be nationally televised on Fox Sports 1 and will be a gold-out for anyone who can make it in person. I recommend making it in person.
Let's "Gold Out" the Ferrell Center on Sunday vs. WVU, every one wear gold. We'll honor our three seniors at halftime as well.

Baseball's game versus Incarnate Word was postponed until April 2, game time to be determined, after inclement weather kept the game from being played in Waco today.
Tomorrow's game v Texas A&M Corpus Christi is postponed too. Rescheduled for April 30: http://t.co/D0iWWEmEmz

The Beach Aggies will just have to wait their turn. In lieu of actual baseball, the team's twitter feed released a master list of promotions during the season. If you miss out on $1 hot dog night, there's nothing else I can do for you.

The Lady Bears are sitting comfortably at 12th in all of the major polls after a strong showing in tournament play last week and stellar pitching.
Offseason Football News
Demetri Goodson had a great day at the NFL combine, posting a 4.44 40-yard dash. Combined with his 6'0 size, he looks to be a potential later round prospect. Meech is some good coaching away from being a capable pro-level corner, and his combination of size and athleticism will be intriguing to teams looking to create Legion of Boom knockoffs. Ahmad Dixon also had a respectable showing with 4.54 speed and an epic videobomb of Deion Sanders that allowed Baylor to show off its dancing skills on the Mothership.
I'm no recruiting authority. My money is on James Lockhart as our next 2015 commit. Whatever's going down has 2015 ATH commit Blake Lynch practically bouncing though.
If the athletes who I think will commit to Baylor actually do,My class will be set for sure.

I can't go on enough about how much I like Lynch as a player and as a mouthpiece for the 2015 class.
Spring practices begin on February 28th and I'll see what I can do as far as showing up to watch. I hope the spring game is moved to McClane Stadium next year.
The Best of the Rest
Women's golf didn't win the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
The Baylor women's golf team finished in 13th place after shooting 2-over-par 290 in Tuesday's final round at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate. The Lady Bears finished the tournament with a 54-hole score of 23-over 887, which placed them ahead of four teams, including Texas, No. 47 Georgia, Ole Miss and UTSA.

Having athletic students and alumni who are so involved in the Baylor community and return year after year to help build upon the school's growing legacy of excellence on and off the field is extremely encouraging. Maybe I can get Griff to Midnight Waffles before he leaves town.
The winter is ending. Watch the game tonight.
