MBB Dominates Texas Southern

This one was, as Matt points out, a mismatch. It was so much of a mismatch that Rico Gathers was able to score at will en route to another double-double. Unfortunately I was tied up with meetings and group projects and was unable to attend, so I can't offer much more insight than that. The Bears are now 6-1, while Texas Southern falls to 1-6.

Getting Rico actively involved in the bucket business is a game changer. If his shooting ability continues to improve, we have a dangerous asset on our hands.

Royce hasn't been as hot from three the last few games, but he's evolved as a player this year and is a legitimate scoring threat from anywhere on the court. His continued development could shape our season.

Barnes Parts Ways With Volleyball

After multiple straight losing seasons, it appears that the powers that be decided Barnes wasn't the right man for the job anymore. The team showed improvement this year, but with the assets Baylor devotes to volleyball and the potential the program has, losing seasons aren't acceptable. I'm interested to see who we find as a replacement.

In happier news, junior Andie Malloy is an All-Big 12 player! Congrats, Andie!

WBB's Cohen Named Big 12 Freshman of the Week

Dekeiya Cohen has shined in her limited minutes this season for the No. 11 Lady Bears, and is probably Kim Mulkey's next big thing. The Lady Bears' next game is tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in the Ferrell Center against Texas-Pan American, a school whose name is hyphenated rather oddly. If you've heard of Texas-Pan American (perhaps you even went there!) feel free to tell us about it in the comments. I've never heard of it.

This is a new segment that I'll be including whenever things are moving quickly on ODB. The site is churning out a huge amount of content this year, more than ever before, and some articles that deserve more attention get lost in the storm. I'll be offering a sampling of recent ODB content that is either noteworthy or in need of more views than it's getting.

GameDay Sign Workshop - Fanpost - lord.hinton

I'll be the first to admit that I often fail to check the fanposts, despite them being how I got this job. If you have any GameDay sign ideas that you want to run by the community with minimal risk of theft, this is the place.

A Look Ahead: Baylor's Potential Future Non-Con Opponents - Matthew Tennant

Who could Baylor play that would shut up the angry voices clamoring that we should be punished for week out of conference scheduling? Why, I'm so glad you asked, outraged Mississippi State fans.
