MBB Dominates Texas Southern
just a mismatch this evening, Baylor wins 75-49.
— mattisbear (@mattisbear) December 2, 2014
This one was, as Matt points out, a mismatch. It was so much of a mismatch that Rico Gathers was able to score at will en route to another double-double. Unfortunately I was tied up with meetings and group projects and was unable to attend, so I can't offer much more insight than that. The Bears are now 6-1, while Texas Southern falls to 1-6.
Rico Gathers goes to bench with career highs of 23 points and 4 blocks, adds 14 rebounds. #SicTSU

Getting Rico actively involved in the bucket business is a game changer. If his shooting ability continues to improve, we have a dangerous asset on our hands.
Royce O'Neale scored his 1,000th collegiate point on this trey. #SicTSU pic.twitter.com/ENBN1QMw5c

Royce hasn't been as hot from three the last few games, but he's evolved as a player this year and is a legitimate scoring threat from anywhere on the court. His continued development could shape our season.
Barnes Parts Ways With Volleyball
Barnes Will Not Return at Baylor’s Volleyball Coach http://t.co/dI3fDmdGCN
— Baylor Volleyball (@BaylorVBall) December 2, 2014
After multiple straight losing seasons, it appears that the powers that be decided Barnes wasn't the right man for the job anymore. The team showed improvement this year, but with the assets Baylor devotes to volleyball and the potential the program has, losing seasons aren't acceptable. I'm interested to see who we find as a replacement.
In happier news, junior Andie Malloy is an All-Big 12 player! Congrats, Andie!

WBB's Cohen Named Big 12 Freshman of the Week
Congrats to forward Dekeiya Cohen, Big 12 Freshman of the Week. Honor well deserved. http://t.co/04uS8jUWJT
— Baylor Lady Bears (@BaylorWBB) December 1, 2014
Dekeiya Cohen has shined in her limited minutes this season for the No. 11 Lady Bears, and is probably Kim Mulkey's next big thing. The Lady Bears' next game is tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in the Ferrell Center against Texas-Pan American, a school whose name is hyphenated rather oddly. If you've heard of Texas-Pan American (perhaps you even went there!) feel free to tell us about it in the comments. I've never heard of it.
