Monday DBR: Winter Shootyhoops Continue

The Lady Bears are unstoppable, and plenty of football speculation.

Lady Bears steamroll SFA

The No. 9 Baylor Lady Bears Basketball team had no trouble with Stephen F. Austin on Sunday, Baylor was held scoreless for nine straight attempts, but shot 76% from that point on. Nina Davis lead the team in scoring with 33 points. Alexis Prince followed with her personal career-high of 20.

The Lady Bears have three more games in 2014. They play Syracuse and Michigan State in Florida this weekend, and Prairie View A&M at home next week.

MBB gets ready for 2015

Baylor Basketball takes on New Mexico State tomorrow night in the Ferrell Center at 8 on ESPNU. The game marks the final stretch of non-conference games before a brutal start to conference play. After Southern and Norfolk State to begin the year, Baylor will play at Oklahoma and host Kansas in the first seven days of January. Upsetting one of the two would set a radically different tone for conference play than anyone expected and prove to the nation that Baylor is a force to be reckoned with.

Assuming we win out in non-con, a few quality wins in the Big 12 can get us to the Big Dance. At that point, anything can happen. We'll see how it all works out.

Mind the Bear Signal

Anything can happen in recruiting these days. With Jarrett Stidham on the market and considering Baylor there may (or may not) be big recruiting news in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled, I know just as much as you do.
