Monday DBR: Welcome to Fabulous Waco, Texas

It's a huge week for Baylor University.

MBB Hosts Texas Southern

Texas Southern (1-5) visits the Ferrell Center tonight at 8 p.m. to take on Baylor (5-1) in what I predict to be a lopsided game in Baylor's favor. The Bears are coming off a loss to Illinois in finals of the Las Vegas Invitational after an abysmal offensive performance (due in part to Kenny Chery being sidelined due to injury). The game will be televised on ESPNU.

Brady Heslip Destroying Worlds

Goodness. Someone in the league needs to give this man a shot. Pun not intended. Brady is capable of fueling an offense by himself if he can get open, and the NBA is far from being the most defense-friendly pro sports league.

Lady Bears 3-0 Over Weekend

The Lady Bears had a good and relaxing weekend, putting away Utah State, Stetson, and Marist with ease. They beat Utah State 99-43, Stetson 96-42, and Marist 90-60.

GameDay to Waco

The site for College GameDay will likely be announced later tonight after a site crew from ESPN tours campus today. I personally hope that the set ends up on Fountain Mall with Pat Neff Hall in the background, which I think is the most spectacular view on campus. I fully understand if the showrunners want to put it near the stadium, however.

As you make your signs, I'd like to suggest that you not say anything disparaging about the playoff committee. They are fallible humans that hold grudges like anyone else and the last thing they needs is another way to justify keeping us out of the playoff. Show up early, be loud, and be the friendliest people Herbie and the Gang have ever found.

Also, pray that we get to see Lee Corso in a Bruiser head. I can't wait to see what he does when he finds out we have real bears.

SEC Slate Approaches for MBB

On December 4 and December 9, Baylor Basketball travels to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt and gets Texas A&M at home. It will be the first time the Aggies have come to Waco since they jumped ship to the SEC, and the Ferrell Center will be rocking to welcome them back. Get tickets to this one now if you haven't already, because it could get extremely confrontational. I also fully expect us to win.
