Thanksgiving Football at a Glance
LSU at Texas A&M
College Station, TX - 6:30 p.m.
It has ben 7025 days since Texas A&M beat LSU. This period includes three straight LSU victories dating back to the Cotton Bowl the year before A&M was integrated into the SEC. LSU, despite a middling record, is hampered more by youth than talent differential, and has all the tools necessary to make life very difficult for the Aggies: a stable of powerful running backs, a strong defensive secondary, and mauling play on both sides of the line.
TCU at Texas
Austin, TX - 6:30 p.m.
Charlie Strong's vastly improved Longhorns will try to hold off the TCU onslaught in DKR. The Horns should be able to neutralize TCU's ground game, and the defense as a whole should hold up well, but the game will be decided by Texas's ability to score on a good TCU defense. At this point, it's pretty clear that the Committee has no intention to move Baylor ahead of TCU. The Frogs need to lose.
Late Night Shootyhoops
Scott Drew and the gang are in Vegas today, and they tip off against Memphis at 10:59 p.m. on Fox Sports 1. Hopefully we'll get a look at our new alternate black jerseys against the Tigers. Tournament play should give us a better idea of where the 2014/2015 team stands. I can't wait to play A&M next month.
I'm thankful for (among other things) this community- the editors who give me the freedom to publish something on their site every weekday, the readers and commenters who keep me in a job, and the greater society spread across Twitter and other outlets that keep me entertained and engaged, even when I'm not really in a sporting mood. Y'all are the best, and I hope you're enjoying a relaxing day with your families in front of a television set instead of reading this.
