No. 9 Iowa State defeated 7th-ranked Baylor at the Hilton Coliseum last night, with Cyclone guard DeAndre Kane putting up 30 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds against the Bears. Gary Franklin and Brady Heslip led Baylor with 15 points each, while Isaiah Austin scored 10 points and grabbed 12 boards. The Bears return to Waco for the Big 12 home opener against TCU this Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

The no. 7 Lady Bears head to West Virginia to take on a tough and talented Mountaineer team tonight at 6 p.m. Baylor has two win streaks on the line in tonight's game-their 42-win regular season Big 12 conference and their 51 straight Big 12 victories, including the Big 12 Championship. Sophomore guard Alexis Prince will most likely not see floor timein these first games, due to concern over lingering effects from surgery to repair a fractured foot.

Baylor football finished the season ranked no. 13 in both polls, despite winning the Big 12 title and setting a school record for wins. BCS bowl winner Oklahoma finished sixth in both polls.
