09.06.2013 Daily Bears Report, Early Edition

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, the last day before a game. It's delicious.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

First off, there's a podcast for you to download and listen to on your way to work/class/errands. Do that.

Baylor Football takes on Buffalo tomorrow, and if you're still not sure what that's about, Mark's got you covered. If you are attending the game, you will be allowed to bring in no more than two plastic/reusable water bottles. In related news, the high for Waco tomorrow is 99º F, and sunny. Buffalo will have to not only deal with the heat on Saturday, but with Baylor's high-powered, fast-paced offense. Baylor will have to deal with Buffalo's star linebacker, Khalil Mack, the Bulls' defensive leader and most productive tackler.

Baylor Volleyball looks to keep winning this weekend, after picking up their season-first victory over SMU Tuesday. The Bears will face Tulsa, UT-Arlington, and Mississippi State this weekend in the Baylor Classic, hosted here at the Ferrell Center.

Baylor Soccer heads to College Station to face a familiar foe in both Missouri and Texas A&M. The Bears will take on their former conference rivals as they attempt to continue their program-record 25-match regular season winning streak.

The Big 12 has released the Women's Basketball television schedule, and the Lady Bears will be shown five times across the conference slate on FOX networks: three times on FOX Sports 1 and twice on the regional network (FoxSportsSouthwest.) It had also been previously announced that the Lady Bears would appear three times on ESPN2.

Finally, Baylor Athletics is once again partnering with Twin Cities based Feed My Starving Children to pack meals for hungry children around the world. Student-athletes from all 19 varsity sports, as well as coaches and staff members, will pack 100,000 meals between 2:00-9:00 PM on September 9th. This is the second year that Baylor Athletics has hosted this event.

SITE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM MCM --

I'm interested in starting a feature for Friday afternoons where we preview the upcoming Big 12 games for that weekend.

Would anyone be interested in doing this? Shoot me an email at OurDailyBears (at) gmail (dot) com if you are. It doesn’t have to be a huge thing, but I think people would enjoy it. Grin & Bear It did a fantastic wrap-up this past Sunday, so I’m confident we can find someone to cover the front-end, as well.

It’d be a pretty big deal on Friday afternoons, I’m thinking, so it would get a lot of attention.
