Baylor's Second Bye Week: The Morning After

After a week off for vacation, MCM is back and ready for another Baylor game. But before that happens, everything from Week 5 in the Big 12 and CFB in general.

Christian Petersen

Hello again, ladies and gentlemen!  I'm back after a full week of vacation and nearly 2300 miles on the Willie Wagon van.  We had an incredible time in Florida, but I'm glad to be back in Texas once again.

Before we do anything else, I wanted to thank the ODB contributors who picked up the slack in my absence; you were incredible.  Peter, Prashanth, David, Miles, Kate, Ted, Colby, G&BI ... everyone.  ODB had a huge week even without a game, and you guys didn't miss a beat.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.  Your efforts made a great week even greater, since I didn't have to worry about the hands in which I placed the site.  Awesome job.

As for Week 5 in the Big 12, obviously we were without a Baylor game yesterday to entertain the masses.  Instead, OU gave the conference its marquee non-conference win of the season and OSU didn't so much shoot itself in the foot as take a machine gun to the entire lower half of its body against West Virginia.  Was OSU trying to lose?  I don't think we can rule it out, even if it doesn't make sense.

Todd Graham does not appreciate the classics, Georgia won a display of traditional SEC offensive firepower, and Tommy Rees just does the things he does.

Look out for the polls coming up later this morning.

ART BRILES TO THE USC TROJ--

I can't even finish that sentence.  Art Briles is not going to be the coach at USC, people.  Ever.  They wouldn't offer it to him, and he wouldn't take it if they did.  Had I the time, I'd remake this with "Art Briles is not leaving Baylor for USC." That move makes literally no sense for him.  He's not leaving the state of Texas, period.

TWITTER STUFF:

Just stuff I found on twitter that I thought was interesting.  Some of it is my own.

I wouldn't freak out about that line.  The really early offshore ones don't always update immediately for games played yesterday.  Expect considerable downward movement, then probably an adjustment back up.

My guess is it settles around 23.5, eventually.

There were a lot of Baylor-Oregon tweets last night.  Check my timeline for more.  I may have suggested to Rubenstein that we play in Dubai.  Or on top of a volcano.

It's no less ridiculous today.

PREACH.

He was talking about UGA-LSU, and he was right.

LOVE YOU, SAGARIN.
