No, UT, you cannot have Art Briles. (Also, FOX editors: Baylor is capitalized.)
Baylor football is ready to be back on the field this weekend after a bye-week, and the Bears will be facing their toughest opponent to date in the Lousiana-Monroe Warhawks, led by quarterback Kolton Browning. Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty believes that Baylor can not only improve upon their performance in the first two weeks, but that winning the Big 12 Championship is within reach. Lache Seastrunk caused some eyebrows to lift last summer by predicting that he'd go to New York this December, and his physical and personal improvement upon arriving at Baylor has a lot to do with that confidence. Baylor verbal commit K.D. Cannon was named the U.S. Army All-American Bowl national high school player of the week after nine catches for 271 yards and five touchdowns in Mount Pleasant's 77-34 win over Terrell last Friday.
Baylor volleyball will have three conference matches televised by Fox Sports Southwest this season, in addition to the two that are to be broadcast nationally on ESPNU. The Bears head to Rice this evening looking for their first road win of the season, and will face a 3-7 Owls team before competing in the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup hosted by the University of Houston this weekend.
Baylor cross-country junior Rachel Johnson was named the Big 12 Runner of the Week for the second time this season after winning the Iowa Black & Gold Invite this past weekend.
Finally, SBNation's latest Longform piece: How Rafael Nadal came back from debilitating knee injuries to be the best player in the world, again.
[UPDATE by pbpope] OurDailyPodcast is recording tonight! We still need your feedback and support! The questions for Community Feedback we've gotten are fantastic, but we need more No Huddle! Email us your No Huddle questions to OurDailyPodcast (at) gmail (dot) com or leave us a message on the voice line at (774) 25-SICEM (257-4236). Your voicemails definitely add something to the show. Also, remember that No Huddle questions are supposed to be either light and fun or something that can be answered very briefly, i.e. one word or sentence. Mark and Prashanth do like to prattle on. Finally, don't forget to identify yourself in your emails and voicemails so that we know who's asking the question! Thanks again, everybody!
