Baylor's Don Trull, quarterback for the Bears from 1961-1963, was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame yesterday, and will be the 10th Bear such honored all time. Trull is considered one of the greatest Baylor QBs,and joins his former WR Lawrence Elkins as an honoree of the Hall.
49th-ranked Baylor Men's Golf earned an 8-seed in the Pullman Regional of the NCAA Golf Championships. The Bears will travel to Pullman, Washington, and play at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club (hosted by Washington State.) In order to advance to the next round, the Bears will need to be in the top five teams at the end of the tournament.
Thirty-two Baylor student-athletes were honored at the annual Academic Banquet yesterday for having the highest grade-point average on their respective teams. Baylor seniors Nick Florence and Brittney Griner were awarded the Big 12 Conference Senior award, which recognizes achievement in sport, in the classroom, and in the community.
Finally, if you are going to be in the Waco area in the next few hours, there will be a celebration this afternoon on the practice field at the Highers Complex. Fundraising efforts have been more successful than even the wildest dreams, from what I've heard, and the projected completion date for the stadium may also be accelerated. Stay tuned.
Join Judge Starr, AD Ian McCaw, and @coachartbriles for celebration of fundraising progress today at 2:30 p.m. #SicEm twitter.com/BUFootball/sta…
