Daily Bears Report 04.30.2013

Matt Ryerson-US PRESSWIRE

Baylor's Lawton Langford earned his first Big 12 Player of the Week award for his performance in the sweep of Texas this weekend. The junior second baseman went 7-16 with three walks across four games, and stole two bases. His production will be needed as the Bears begin a four-game roadtrip at UT Arlington this evening, looking to continue their four-game winning streak. Sterling Wynn will look for his first win of the season in this game, after geting a no-decision on his last start.

Baylor Women's Golf earned the No. 7 seed in the NCAA West Regional, held May 9-11 at the Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, CA. The Lady Bears are ranked 19th in the nation, and came in second overall at the Big 12 Tournament, and freshman Lauren Taylor won the tournament individually.

Baylor Women's Tennis signed top recruit Blair Shankle to a National Letter of Intent for 2013 recently. Shankle has played in US Open juniors tournaments, and brings a level of experience and maturity not often seen in freshmen. The Lady Bears were upset in the semi-final round of the Big 12 Tournament by OSU, and will host a NCAA Selection Show watch party this evening.
