Felix Obi was named the Big 12 Track and Field Male Athlete of the Week after winning the triple jump at the Florida Relays last weekend. Obi is the first Baylor male athlete to win this award since 2009. Baylor did well in the Florida Relays, and junior Erin Atkinson broke Baylor's hammer throw record with her winning throw of 211-5.

Former Baylor soccer star Hanna Gilmore made the final roster for Chicago Red Stars, a member of the newly founded National Women's Soccer League. Gilmore survived two rounds of cuts and is one of only 152 players in the league, and represents former coaches Marci and Paul Jobsen's first recruiting class at Baylor.
