Bears, it's gonna be cold outside.

The last game at Floyd Casey should be a complete sellout, at least by ticket sales. Students stood in lines that reached the Carroll Science Building for a chance to pick up their ticket, and the full allotment of 10,000 tickets was gone by 2:15 p.m. yesterday. With the South Endzone full of paid ticketholders and extra seating added both above and below the concrete, a record-breaking crowd is possible. The Bears have a chance to close out the 'The Case' with a huge win over the first rival to play there, Texas, and if they win, they'll at least share a part of their first Big 12 title. Texas will have to concentrate on pressuring Bryce Petty, though that's not an absolute indicator of success.

A chilling note, literally, is the weather report for this weekend. Bundle up, and stay safe. It's one thing to have a sellout. It's another to have people on dangerous roads.

  • Saturday: A chance of freezing rain and sleet, mainly after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 32. North northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Saturday Night: A chance of freezing rain and sleet. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Odyssey Sims became the new holder of Baylor's all-time assist record in a big way yesterday in the Lady Bears' blowout win over San Jose State, 113-73. The Bears needed a 31-7 run to establish their lead after a slow start, but then led the rest of the way, behind Sims' 29 points, 13 assists, five steals, and five rebounds. The Lady Bears will take on Kentucky Friday in Arlington as part of a doubleheader with the men.
