Before all the bowl festivities and news, a reminder that the basketball Bears have a game against Oral Roberts tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Ferrell Center, or televised on Fox Sports Southwest Plus. Scott Drew's team will look for their 11th straight home victory as they play the Golden Eagles, and a return to the pre-Christmas break form that saw them win more decisively over unranked teams.
Now that you know about tonight's game, on to Wednesday's. The bowl preview show put together by Baylor Athletics will air on Fox Sports Southwest tonight at 5:00 p.m., live from the team hotel in Glendale. Baylor athletics in general have taken major strides under athletic director Ian McCaw, who pulled the pieces together to have both basketball teams and the football team ranked highly.
Bryce Petty may have had to wait four years to take the reins of the Baylor offense, but the learning process and slow journey have been worth it in the end. Petty will get one of his favorite targets back for this bowl game, as Tevin Reese returns from a wrist injury suffered against Oklahoma. Reese will get a chance to make his final collegiate impressions against a UCF defense that lost their defensive coordinator, and will hopefully get the Baylor offense back to its early-season effectiveness. That offense has much more coming to it, as Baylor's recruits can envision themselves leading the program to more glory ($). For Lache Seastrunk and Blake Bortles, this will be a reunion neither expected, but one that Lache's not surprised by.
Art Briles is not going to Washington, D.C. and maybe the more times I type this the fewer things like this I'll have to link (I know that's not likely.)
