Bowl season is upon us, and today sports a decently strong slate of games, considering that today is the first day of bowl season. If you're looking for how to catch these games, SB Nation has you covered. One of Baylor's victims in Buffalo plays today in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and faces San Diego State, which may be the funniest bowl name, or at the very least in the conversation. That game kicks off at 4:30 p.m. CST on ESPN. But before that, we've got the Gildan New Mexico Bowl at 1:00 p.m. CST on ESPN between Washington State and Colorado State.
Next up at 2:30 p.m. Central on ABC, we've got the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl. If the wheels-off podcast were out yet (look for that probably tomorrow), you'd know that Royal Purple is a manufacturer of lubricants. This game features the potentially intriguing matchup of USC and Fresno State; one team that narrowly missed out on a chance at BCS glory, and another that is without both the head coach that it started the season with AND the interim coach that led them to a respectable finish. If USC doesn't absolutely mail it in, this game could be interesting.
The R+L Carrier New Orleans Bowl rounds out the bowl slate at 8 p.m. on ESPN. It appropriately features Louisiana-Lafayette and Tulane.
Lastly, if all this bowl talk and coverage has you excited and ready for the Fiesta Bowl, you can head over and check out the Baylor Football Digital Bowl Guide for the Fiesta.
