Tomorrow night is the biggest game the Bears have played all season, and probably in decades, but games against Texas and Oklahoma State could be just as meaningful later in the season. Kansas State's blueprint may be what Oklahoma uses tomorrow, but the Sooners would need to find a way to score in addition to running the clock, and they'll be facing a Baylor special teams that's decided to get in on the scoring act. The next five weeks in the Big 12 will be fascinating, and not just for Baylor.
Though this season is nowhere near finished, Baylor fans can start making their plans for the future in the new stadium. The Big 12 released the 2014 conference schedule yesterday, and the Bears will take on TCU, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and Kansas State at home in the friendly confines of Baylor Stadium.
The Lady Bears steamrolled Oklahoma City in the final exhibition game of the season last night, winning 91-49. Odyssey Sims led Baylor in scoring, with 23 points, and freshman Khadijah Cave tallied a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in only 18 minutes of action. Kim Mulkey's team starts the regular season this Saturday with a 7 p.m. match against Grambling State.
After a strong start, Baylor soccer had a difficult second half of the season, but will look to change their fortunes against Iowa State in the first round of the Big 12 Championship today. The fifth-seeded Bears will take on the fourth-seeded Cyclones at 11:30 a.m. in Kansas City, Mo. at the Swope Soccer Village.
The Baylor men's golf team currently sits in fifth at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational in Hawaii, 13 strokes behind tournament leader Cal State-Fullerton. Kyle Jones leads the Bears, shooting 9-under-par 135 for the tournament, good for fifth place, individually.
