If the Bears are to stay there, and if they want to turn a good season into a great one, they have to do what no Baylor team has done in 74 years, and beat the Cowboys in Stillwater. Baylor basketball managed to outscore the football team, defeating Louisiana-Lafayette 87-68 yesterday behind the Canadian guard duo of Kenny Chery and Brady Heslip. Chery scored 20 points and had four assists in 32 minutes in the opening round game of the Maui Invitational, while Heslip scored 19 despite being only 2-5 from behind the arc.
Baylor volleyball lost in three sets to Oklahoma on Saturday night, suffering eight service errors and 11 receiving errors.
