First forecast for next Thursday: High of 66ºF. That black apparel you've surely ordered hopefully has long sleeves.

Baylor men's basketball starts the 2013-2014 season out ranked No. 25 in the preseason AP Poll, and will have the talents of transfer guard Royce O'Neale. O'Neale was granted a waiver to play with the Bears this season after transferring from Denver this summer to be closer to his ailing grandfather in Killeen, TX.

Odyssey Sims has been named as one of 30 national candidates for the Senior CLASS Award for women's basketball. The Senior CLASS award celebrates students who display leadership and achievements in the community, in the classroom, and in competition. Sims is a two-time consensus All-American, a Wooden Award, Naismith Trophy and Wade Trophy finalist, and the 2013-2014 Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year.

Baylor baseball's "Burgers on the Berm," an event organized by the Heart of the Order annually, has been set for Nov. 9. Admission, food and drinks are free, but donations are highly encouraged. The intra-squad scrimmage will start at approximately 1:10 p.m. next Saturday.

Senior soccer midfielder Kat Ludlow earned a place on the Capital One Academic All-District VII Second Team, making this the fourth consecutive year that the Bears have had at least on student-athlete honored. Ludlow is a pre-physical therapy major, and ranks in Baylor's career top-30 in assists, points, and goals.
