THE TARP IS GONE, just in case you missed the Breaking News banner up top. If you want to see the lack of tarp, and don't have a ticket yet, this ticket will probably still be available the day of.
Hopefully, the game will continue to sell out, and give the Bears a proper atmosphere for next Thursday's showdown with No. 10 Oklahoma. The Bears' style of play challenges everyone they face, and the Sooners are no exception, especially as they'll attempt to defend one of the fastest players in the nation, Tevin Reese. The level of difficulty will be even higher for Oklahoma, as they lost a key piece of their running attack, fullback Trey Millard, to a knee injury last week.
Right now, Baylor's on the cusp of the top four in USA Today's football playoff projections, but a win over Oklahoma could go far in both the thought-experiment and the current BCS standings. The Bears are also currently the Big 12 favorite, but if weirdness were to happen, here's how it would probably all go down.
Odyssey Sims and the 10th-ranked Lady Bears began the 2013-2014 season with a dominating 111-52 win over Palm Beach Atlantic last night. Sims led Baylor in scoring with 21 points, and added eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals in her first game as a senior team leader.
Baylor volleyball's season turnaround will have to wait one more game, as the Bears were swept by Kansas Wednesday night. The Jayhawks made quick work of the Bears, taking each game by at least 10 points. Baylor will hope to bounce back from the defeat when they face Iowa State this Saturday at 7 p.m.
A record 21 members of Baylor's cross country team earned spots on the Academic All-Big 12 team this year, the most ever in the history of the Big 12. Six of the seven men and all 14 women honored were named to the first team.
Finally, if you still need a costume for the small child in your life (if there's a small child in your life) SB Nation's here to help!

Bucky Brooks has Baylor QB Bryce Petty as his new No. 8 QB. Here's our thoughts on Petty earlier this week http://t.co/QRRtLDkXzy
