And then there were two: UCF has reportedly joined Cincinnati in applying for Big 12 membership today, answering the question asked in the last thread I posted about which school would be the next to pull the trigger.
NEWS: #UCF officially submitted its application Wednesday to join the Big 12 Conference, a source within the AAC confirmed to the Orlando Sentinel. @UCFSports had it first. https://t.co/L2TA0iPBEE

I was wondering if we might see BYU wait the longest to apply rather than be the first, and it looks like we might! We are officially now on Cougar Watch here on ODB.
Andy Staples of The Athletic says a planned announcement (of all or just some, we don’t know) is expected Friday, fitting with the timeline that was first proposed last week and was floated again earlier today. Once again, we will have to wait to see how the timing ultimately works out, but I’d put my money on the Big 12 playing with either 12 or 14 teams for the 2023 season.
More to come!
