It's a slow week in the Big 12 as there are only 3 conference games this weekend. Obviously, the Baylor-Oklahoma State game is the headliner but it is our duty to give you a preview of the other games on the schedule.
#20 OKLAHOMA (8-2, 5-2) @ KANSAS STATE (6-4, 4-3)
Bill Snyder Family Stadium (Manhattan, KS)
11:00 AM CT, FS1
Line: Kansas State (-4.5)
The only other game involving teams with bowl implications on Saturday takes place in Manhattan. Oklahoma comes into Bill Snyder Stadium after a nice bounce-back win over Iowa State last week while K-State won 33-31 over TCU on a Jack Cantele field goal as time expired. Reports out of Norman have indicated that Trevor Knight will take back the reins at starting QB this week after Blake Bell left last week's game with a concussion (related: Blake Bell isn't very good). The OU rushing offense went to another level after Knight replaced Bell, rushing for over 400 yards on the day. But that was against Iowa State at home. The Wildcats have always been a tough out in Manhattan and this game should be no different. K-State will try to get the Sooner offense into clear passing situations and hope that their secondary can hold up, whether they are with or without Ty Zimmerman who may miss with an injury. The Wildcats will try to continue their surge in the second half of the season as they aim for a 5th consecutive win. K-State surprisingly struggled against a TCU team fighting for its postseason life but was able to make the critical plays when it needed to in order to squeak out a win. Daniel Sams continued his rampage on Big 12 defenses, rushing for 109 yards on 19 carries, and I would expect the gameplan to be the same against an OU defense that has had issues against power rushing attacks. I think this will be a bit of a slugfest type of game and I like K-State to withstand that battle more than I do OU with a freshman QB. The Wildcats continue their roll at home.
Prediction: Kansas State 31 Oklahoma 21

7:00 PM CT, FS1
Line: Iowa State (-5)
If you have listened to Our Daily Podcast this week, I said that this would be the shortest game preview I've ever given. So here it goes. Iowa State wins and covers.
