Baylor Soccer Game 6 Preview: Demons Redux

Baylor's football team looks to do to Northwestern State what Baylor's football team did to Northwestern State last night.

Your Baylor Bears continue their weekend of Southland Conference opponents against Northwestern State. Don't look for the Soccer Bears to destroy the Lady Demons 70-6, but I would not be surprised either if they game ended up with a similar "soccerized" scoreline.

The Lady Demons currently hold a 1-4-0 record with their lone win coming in a 9-1 shellacking of Louisiana College -a tiny Baptist college in the middle-of-nowhere Louisiana. Other than that game, the Lady Demons, much like Incarnate Word, have been wanting for goals; only scoring two goals across four games. All while giving up 13 goals. I cannot seem to find the Southland Conference stadings from last year, but the Lady Demons finished 7-11-1 (5-6-1), so I can't imagine that they did better than a mid-table finish. All in all, the game should be an easy win for the Bears; the real challenge will be maintaining the home shutout streak.

I expect a similar result to Friday's thwomping of Incarnate Word.

Prediction: Bears 4-0 Lady Demons

Game is at 1:00 at Betty Lou Mays.
