JUCO SG Desmond Lee chooses NC State over Baylor, Creighton

This particular miss for Baylor MBB recruiting leaves Baylor probably looking to the D1 transfer ranks with a scholarship in-hand and a major hole at the SG position.

Depending on who returns, Baylor will have either one or two scholarships (probably) available after the penalties assessed this past season end in 2014. We'll have to keep an eye on the D1 transfer ranks, most likely, to see how the Bears address our roster deficiency. It's possible we just pocket the scholarship going into next season, but I don't think it's likely. If Cory Jefferson and/or Isaiah Austin leave, we could have even more than one.

With Kenny Chery coming in and one of the above two coming back in all likelihood, Baylor's needs may not be as dire as I make them seem. It is my belief, however, that we're going to need an impact player from the wing or rely on a true freshman in Ish Wainwright. He may be ready for it, he may not. Looks like we'll see.
