When Baylor took the court in Ames on January 7 of this year, they did so ranked #7 in the country at 12-1. Exactly three weeks later, the Bears have now lost 5 games in a row in conference play and are now only out of the Top 25 but off the bubble, as well. Baylor entered the 2-game home stretch against Texas and West Virginia needing two wins to right the ship and preserve the season. It got neither. This shouldn't happen.
This is now a disaster by every definition in the book. A once-promising team that Bears fans thought could contend for a Big 12 Championship has devolved into one of the punchlines of the year in college basketball. 5 losses in a row, 3 of them at home. They've been outplayed, outcoached, outfought, outworked, out-everything that matters. This shouldn't happen.
Once again, Baylor had the opportunity with the ball to win at the end of the game. Once again, we didn't get a shot off. This shouldn't happen.
Look at that schedule. It's not getting better.
