Before getting to the nightcap, we should recognize the valiant effort in defeat by the Ladies. The #9-ranked Lady Bears lost tonight by the score of 133-130 in the highest-scoring game in NCAA WBB history. In a no-doubt unintentional homage to the 2012 football team, they scored the most points in history in a loss, finally succumbing to the combined effects of exhaustion and attrition. All-everything PG Odyssey Sims had 47 before fouling out with three overtimes left to go in the game, Nina Davis added 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Mackenzie Robertson put up 23 of her own in 57 minutes played.

The Men: Baylor 67, Kentucky 62
I'm not going to pretend that I can tell you why/how this game turned out the way that it did. We have much better people around here for that when it comes to basketball. All I know is that Rico Gathers is a beast, Kenny Chery has ice in his veins, and Isaiah Austin showed-up in a huge way against the highly-touted Kentucky combo of Julius Randle and Willie Cauley-Stein (who were both quite good, don't get me wrong).
With NIU falling earlier and probably clearing a spot in the Bowl Championship Series, perhaps even for your Baylor Bears should they win tomorrow, and MBB earning the best win to-date by a Big 12 team, it's been a pretty awesome night for Bears fans. A long night, but an awesome one. Now we all (hopefully) get to head off to bed before making our way slowly and carefully to Waco for the final game in Floyd Casey history!
