When someone finally builds the Pantheon of Baylor Athletics, the wing covering Baylor Basketball will probably not highlight or even acknowledge this game in any way. Teams angling to build on Elite Eight trips the season before don't lose home games to College of Charleston, even when they're missing key players. It's not a rule, per se, as much as a stringently-followed guideline.
I don't want to talk too much about this abomination of a game, so I'll just say that Baylor slept-walked through most of it the game in front of literally dozens of people, never looked engaged on either end, and didn't have the offensive punch it typically has. No, Charleston is not a bad team by any stretch, but to characterize this as anything but one we should have won decisively is to dabble in tremendous self-delusion. Baylor has a lot of work to do before we head to Kentucky next week.
Whatever. I won't dwell on it. It's pretty embarrassing, though.
