The fifth-ranked Baylor Lady Bears (32-3) are competing in the NCAA Championship for the fourth time in program history as one of the tournament's four No. 2 seeds.Baylor is led by sophomore forward Nina Davis' 20.9 points and 8.3 rebounds a contest. Senior post Sune Agbuke ranks No. 2 on the team in rebounding at 5.8 a contest while point guard Niya Johnson hauls down 5.0 boards and dishes out a nation's-best 8.7 assists per contest.
The Lady Bears will take on head coach Lisa Bluder's third-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m. (CT). Iowa, 26-7 on the season, advanced to its sixth Sweet 16 in program history, and first since 1996 with Sunday's 88-70 homecourt win over Miami (FL). Ally Disterhoft, Melissa Dixon, Bethany Doolittle and Samantha Logic average double-digit scoring for Iowa with 15.2, 14.9, 14.1 and 13.4 points, respectively, while Doolittle is the squad's top rebounder at 7.0 per contest, followed by Logic's 6.9 rpg.
