To say that today may be the biggest recruiting day yet in the Matt Rhule Era would be two things simultaneously: 1) a bit of an understatement, and 2) slightly ridiculous because tomorrow will be even bigger. With the first Early Signing Day in college football history less than 24 hours away, Baylor looks to close (pending the traditional NSD in February) what is a remarkably strong class given our record this season. Depending on how things shake out into the spring, it could be our best in the modern era.
Before we get there, though, all eyes today are on Earle, Arkansas QB Gerry Bohanon, who, as of the time of this writing, will announce in roughly three hours in a ceremony at his high school. I’m sure there will be some kind of video coverage of the event, so check back when/if I can scrounge that up.

Bohanon is a 4* recruit, the #11-ranked dual-threat QB in the country, and the #1-ranked recruit period in the State of Arkansas. He has also been arguably the biggest target on Baylor’s entire recruiting board since he was offered in the summer. Given the fact that Zach Smith has chosen to transfer, leaving us with just one scholarship QB going into the spring, there should be doubt of his importance now. If he commits to Baylor, he will enroll early in January to go through spring practice prior to his freshman year, as Charlie Brewer, Zach Smith, Jarrett Stidham, Seth Russell, and Robert Griffin III did before him.
I don’t know if 247Sports has locked down the Crystal Ball for Gerry as they often do prior to scheduled commitments, but the current situation has it 94% for Baylor. That’s held fairly consistent over the last few months with little or no deviation by any prominent Crystal Ballers. That should make you feel pretty good about Baylor’s chances, but who knows.
2 PM Central, everybody. I can’t wait.
The other big piece of news (so far) for today is the reaffirmation of high-3* Crosby RB Craig Williams to Baylor following his offer from Texas last week. Williams tweeted last night that he will be signing on Thursday (big news in an of itself), and he will be signing with the Bears.
Come support me as i sign to Baylor University

Williams is one of two RBs the Bears currently have committed in this class and a major point of emphasis for the staff, so keeping him in the fold is definitely a good thing.
I’ll use this thread for more updates throughout the day, so check back. When/if we know more about Bohanon’s choice, there will be a separate thread to let people know.
