The biggest football news of the week remains the universally lauded hire of Cedar Hill’s Joey McGuire, but a close second is the continuation of Baylor’s offer streak on the recruiting trail. We’ll pick up where I left off the other night, and I hope you packed a lunch because there are a few.
DE Nelson Mbanasor — 3* — Pflugerville, TX (Hendrickson) — Texas Tech Commit
Although 1000% committed and a mid year, I'm humbled to receive an offer from Baylor pic.twitter.com/vDr3uJQ9bc
— Nelson Mbanasor (@Nelson_Mbanasor) December 13, 2016
Rumor has it “1000% committed” may be a little inaccurate at this point, but he’s probably not going to flip. He’s related to OU’s Mbanasor, which sounds like a type of dinosaur Chris Pratt has to train to fight the other dinosaurs he already trained.
WR Taariq Johnson — 3* — Buena Park, CA — Cal Commit
Blessed to receive my 31st offer from Baylor #Sicem pic.twitter.com/FCG3w9NzAl

Don’t know much about this one, to be honest. I feel like I read something about a New Jersey connection that may exist, but I can’t remember for sure.
QB Avery Davis — 4* — Cedar Hill, TX — Notre Dame Commit
WR Charleston Rambo — 4* — Cedar Hill, TX -- Oklahoma Commit
Extremely blessed to receive an offer from Baylor University!!! #SicEm pic.twitter.com/mb659EcN6z

I’m including these as a pair since they’re both from Cedar Hill, the same place as our new coach Joey McGuire. These offers actually happened before McGuire was announced as part of our staff, but I doubt the two things are wholly unrelated. That doesn’t mean we hired McGuire just to get these guys, by any means. Or that we’ll get these guys at all.
It should be noted that Davis released some kind of statement saying that he was still committed to Notre Dame and nothing had changed, but that was either right before or right after ND’s offensive coordinator, Mike Sanford, took the WKU job. So maybe something has changed.
Charleston Rambo has the greatest name in the history of the world.
DE/DT James Lynch — 3* — Round Rock, TX — Uncommitted
Have been told that Baylor HC Matt Rhule met with and offered former USC commit, James Lynch, this past weekend. @baylorscout
— Kevin Barrera (@KBScoutBaylor) December 14, 2016
Lynch, the former USC commit, was in a previous update as a potential target. Apparently, that was somewhat prescient. We’ll see where it leads.
WR Tariq Woolen -- 3* -- Fort Worth, TX -- UTSA Commit
Proud and blessed to announce that I have received my 7th D1 FBS football scholarship/offer from Baylor University #SicEm #blessed pic.twitter.com/2eU0r4ryBT
— Tariq Woolen (@_Tariqwoolen) December 14, 2016
Baylor offered the 6’ 5” UTSA commit on Tuesday evening, and this may be one to watch very soon.
TE Jordan Ferguson — 3* — Norcross, GA — Uncommitted
Re up Friday !! pic.twitter.com/hR65U6TtkS
— Jordan Ferguson (@Ferg_1058) December 15, 2016
Baylor offered on Tuesday, immediately made Ferguson’s top 3, and may have prompted him to decide to commit tomorrow. Could there by any more appropriate first commit of the Matt Rhule era than a 6-3, supposedly 260-ish TE?
MIGHT NEED TO FIRE UP THE BREAKING NEWS BANNER TOMORROW, FOLKS!
OL Jason Moore — Unranked — Frisco, TX — Uncommitted
Blessed beyond measure to receive my 15th offer and first Power 5 offer from Baylor #SicEm pic.twitter.com/u5UAN7Cpbj

OL Will Sherman — 3* — Allen, TX -- Colorado Commit
#SicEm has offered Allen OL and #CUBuffs commit Will Sherman (@TheWilllSherman): https://t.co/t1eRafnim6

DE Dayo Odeyingbo -- 3* — Carrollton, TX — Vanderbilt Commit
Blessed to Re Receive an offer from Baylor University #SicEm https://t.co/kuTPSg0At2
— Dayo Odeyingbo (@dodeyingbo) December 15, 2016
We had offered him before, but now we’ve “confirmed” that offer! Yay!
QB Bryson Smith — 3* -- Tyler, TX — Houston Commit

So that’s it for now. Hopefully, we’ll (at least) double our commit count by this time tomorrow!
