Ever since Jordan Elliott decommitted, Baylor has been searching for a new beginning for its 2016 defensive line class.  It got it this evening with the commitment of Spring's Bravvion Roy, who had been rumored to be leaning to the Bears for some time before announcing his commitment today.

If you hadn't paid much recent attention to Roy's recruitment, today's announcement may have come as a bit of a surprise.  Roy had previously maintained that he would commit on July 21 of this year after visiting various camps.  Yesterday, he changed his mind to say he'd commit today rather than visit Texas' camp and released a final six of Baylor, LSU, Texas Tech, Missouri, Houston, and Oklahoma State.  As had been rumored for a while, he then made the call for the Bears and is now Baylor's 11th commit in the 2016 class.

With so many of our other targets on the defensive line off the table already, Roy's commitment is a huge one for Baylor's 2016 class.  My guess is that we'll still look for at least one more at defensive tackle, possible two if we feel like we need a JUCO, as well.  That's in addition to defensive end, where we're still looking for our first commit in this class after losing out on both Mark Jackson (A&M) and Erick Fowler (LSU).

Anyway, welcome to Baylor, Bravvion!  If you want to follow him on Twitter, you'll have to ask; his profile is protected.
