Navasota WR Tren'Davian Dickson is Baylor's 5th commit for 2016

WRU gained its newest member tonight in what is shaping up as one of the best days in recent Baylor recruiting history.

I'm going to be honest -- before his name started appearing on the lists for today's camp, I hadn't heard of Navasota WR Tren'Davian Dickson.  Our coaching staff obviously had since he earned an offer, but I'm not too proud to say he was outside of my knowledge completely.  Here's what we do know about Baylor's 5th commitment for 2016, after the commit tweet from Briles himself:

Vital Statistics:

Name: Tren'Davian Dickson
Position: WR
School: Navasota HS (Navasota, TX)
Mascot: Rattlers
Height: 6-1
Weight: 178 lbs
Rankings: Composite: n/a, 247: n/a
Profiles: 247Sports, Rivals, Scout, ESPN
Video: HUDL, Baylor 247 Instagram

Right away, you'll notice that Dickson has no 247Composite score, meaning he hasn't been ranked by any of the major services.  I'd expect that to change very soon, especially after his recent 7-on-7 performances, and I'll update this post when it does.  For now, we've got bupkis.  I don't know when Baylor offered exactly; it might have been today.  All of his profiles register interest from Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, and Texas, with the Longhorns reportedly close to offering should he have camped with them tonight in Austin.

One thing that jumps out from searching for Dickson on Twitter is that he's apparently quite the basketball player, meaning raw athleticism shouldn't be a problem.  It didn't look to be, anyway, when he threw it down on some poor unsuspecting dude.  That wasn't the first time he'd done that, either.  At 6-1, he doesn't have what I'd call elite size, but we've seen what smaller guys can do in this offense quite a bit, and his speed should be more than sufficient to thrive.  Take a look at his HUDL film above and tell me what you think.  It says a lot to me that he reportedly already has a great relationship with QB commit Zach Smith from working together at camp.

With Dickson now in the fold, Baylor has 5 commits already for a class that is 18 months from signing.  That is by far the most we've ever had at this point, and if the rumors are true, we could see #6 at any minute.

Welcome to Baylor, Tren'Davian!
