2015 CB Jordan Tolbert commits to Baylor over Oklahoma, TCU, and Texas

New, 9 comments

Former Houston commit Jordan Tolbert of Missouri City, Texas, became Baylor's 9th commit of the 2015 class tonight!

The recruitment of ATH John Humphrey continues to pay dividends for Baylor, as his close friend and rumored commit partner Jordan Tolbert finally pulled the trigger tonight and committed to the Bears.  Tolbert, once a commit of the Houston Cougars, is a high-3* recruit by 247Sports with an offer list including the likes of Texas, Oklahoma, TCU, and numerous others.  Baylor offered Tolbert in December 2013 and welcomed him for an unofficial visit in March.  He also visited for one of our Junior Days in late January. Here was Jordan's announcement on Twitter:

Vital Statistics:

Name: Jordan Tolbert
School:  Ridge Point HS (Missouri City, TX)

Tolbert is Baylor's 9th commit of the 2015 class and the first definite corner (Humphrey may end up there, but it's not set in stone yet.  I think the coaches will give him the chance to play where he likes.). In the link above and right, SB Nation's Wescott Eberts gave an outstanding and informative scouting report for Tolbert back when Texas offered that is just as applicable today.  It appears Baylor is getting a physical CB with excellent size: the kind of recruit you can dream on as a potential "shutdown corner."  We talked about it a little in the May Recruiting thread, but Tolbert is exactly the kind of guy that with strong showings at the summer camp circuit could easily make a jump into the ranks of the 4* recruits, especially with his offer list.  Welcome aboard, Jordan!
