2015 ATH John Humphrey commits to Baylor over Oklahoma, Notre Dame, TCU, and others

While I was on the road this evening, the Baylor Bears received their seventh commitment of the 2015 class in the form of Clear Falls athlete John Humphrey!

Baylor's recruiting train kept rolling tonight with the long-rumored commitment of Clear Falls (League City, TX) athlete John Humphrey.  I was in the car when it happened, so SB Nation's Wescott Eberts took control of the situation and was kind enough to provide a scouting report (linked at right) on what Baylor fans are getting in Mr. Humphrey.

Since he's already gone to the trouble, I'll just give you the nuts and bolts of this commitment along with a few reactions from the twitterverse.

Vital Statistics:

Name: John Humphrey
School:  Clear Falls HS (League City, TX)
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 162
Rankings: Composite: 85.96 (3*), 247: 89 (3*)
Profiles: 247Sports, Rivals, Scout, ESPN

Humphrey was recruited by Baylor assistant Carlton Buckels, which might give us a bit of insight into his future position with the Bears.  Though he has played WR and returner almost exclusively to date, rumors have swirled taht should he decide to come to Baylor, it might be as a cornerback (Buckels' position).  It's also possible both Brileses see another potential Tevin Reese in the offing and decide to keep him.  Whatever the case, he is an explosive athlete with tremendous speed, something we seem to be acquiring at a prodigious rate recently.

It will be interesting to see if this commitment earns the Bears another in the form of former Houston CB commit Jordan Tolbert.

First came the announcement from Humphrey himself:

Then Coach Briles got in on the act, somewhat:
