WR Chris Platt joins Baylor's growing 2014 class!

With two commitments yesterday, Baylor got on the board for 2014 in a big way. That momentum hasn't stopped, either, as Willis WR/CB Chris Platt gave his verbal commitment to Art Briles and the Baylor Bears.

Like Tevin Reese starter kits (but maybe a little taller)? Well Baylor may have another one in WR/CB Chris Platt, a standout on both sides of the ball from Willis HS in Willis, Texas. He's also a track star, having won the 4A state title in the 400 in 2012. I'm not sure at this point which position he'll play in college, but I'd guess WR from his comments in the past and those about him elsewhere. So far, Texas Tech is Platt's only other offer, but I wouldn't read too much into that. He'll get more after this coming track season even before the camps this summer begin.

Platt has been an entertaining recruit to follow because of his excitement following Baylor's offer about two weeks ago and never-ending enthusiasm for all things Bears ever since. His twitter account might as well be given an official tag by the University, he's that pro-Baylor in everything he says and does.

Like his fellow 2014 commits, Platt came to Baylor's first Junior Day yesterday on-campus, and he may not be the last commit to emerge from that day's festivities. Before we get to the potential cascade effects of commits, though, Platt deserves attention all his own. He has HUDL videos galore that are worth looking at if you want to know more, as well as a Youtube highlight video from this past season that I will embed below. Let me know what you think.

Welcome to Baylor, Chris! You are joining a 2014 recruiting class that will reshape the face of Baylor Football, and I, for one, am ecstatic to have you aboard.
