I mentioned this commitment in the JUCO Decision thread a few minutes ago but decided to wait until we heard a little more about Mr. Young's status with the Bears. Now that things are a bit more solid, here we go:
DeSoto ILB Taylor Young has committed to Baylor, according to coach Claude Mathis. A little undersized, but a heck of a player. #txhsfb

Young joins a 2013 class that now stands officially at 23 (I think...) with several tremendous recruits still on the board. From all accounts, Young will enroll in the fall of 2013 and likely redshirt, but will be a full-scholarship player from the get-go. View his 247Sports profile here.
You don't often see 5-10 linebackers in Big 12 games, a physical limitation that is likely to blame for Young's light recruitment thus far, but the kind of talent Taylor displayed in games is hard to deny. Not being the biggest player on the field didn't stop him from often being the very best. The phrase "tackling machine" was coined for guys like Young. Just a quick look at his stats:
Baylor's newest 2013 football commit: Class 5A defensive POY, 130 Tackles, 3 sacks, 6 PBUs, 4 INTS, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries

I'm having a hard time finding publicly-available highlight videos at this point, but I'll post or link them when I do. If someone more HUDL-savvy than I am could jump in, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Welcome to Baylor, Taylor!
